What is philosophy anyway?
Ruler

The word ‘philosophy’ literally means ‘Love of wisdom’, or more widely the pursuit of wisdom, truth or knowledge. Unlike most disciplines, philosophy does not have a characteristic object of study. Rather, philosophy is properly speaking ‘about’ absolutely everything. The typical concerns of philosophers, though, are with foundational or conceptual questions in any particular area.

Established sub-branches of philosophy include moral philosophy, political philosophy, philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, philosophy of art, philosophy of religion, metaphysics and epistemology. More specialised sub-branches include philosophy of economics, philosophy of biology, philosophy of language, and the philosophy of logic.
