Welcome to the Wine Tasting Society of the University of Natal,Pietermaritzburg. We have a committee of 7 and a membership of approximately 45 people. The first semester of this year has been extremely successful. We have had 8 interesting tastings from the likes of an introductory tasting by Marcus Burnett, Oddbins wines (Checkers), La Bri Estate wines, a range of Simonsig, Delheim, Blaauwklippen and Morgenhof wines, all of which have been sponsored by various estates. We ended off the semester with a social braai and for those postgrads who were around during the varisty holiday, a blind tasting was had. We have aimed at having a tasting every second week and thus far we have accomplished this. This year we too have launched a newsletter (From the Grapevine)which is published every month and has been well appreciated. This website is aimed at making the advertising of our society and various tastings, more accessible to our members and other interested parties. This site will be updated every month or when needs be.
